Nicole Livas is an independent multimedia journalist and coach.

She took a leap of faith following a yoga retreat, a mission trip to Haiti, and Oprah's "Life You Want Tour," which included a quick meeting with the legend herself.

I'm an independent journalist, speaker, and coach based in Washington, DC.

I walked away from the "perfect job" to join my husband for his career move and to find more balance in my life. During that time we welcomed our daughter.

I'm led by faith and lessons learned during a mission trip to Haiti, a silent yoga retreat and Oprah's Life You Want tour-- which included a quick meeting and chat with the legend.

I served 15 years as a weekday evening anchor at WAVY-TV in my hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. My duties went way beyond the on-air work. I also produced stories and blogs for WAVY.com, and promoted the station's stories and events while engaging with viewers via social media sites. I'm a community leader who often speaks to aspiring journalists and various community groups.

I stay up to date with the latest trends and technology in digital media by attending conferences organized by the Online News Association, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and Society of Professional Journalists.

I speak, read, and write Spanish well. I spend my free time with my family and working out. I love to travel, read, cook and support local businesses.

I'm currently seeking hosting, media consulting, content writing, speaking, and volunteer opportunities.
